  1. Hi! I think we’d be a perfect band for your location. In fact we’ve played in that location before for an Arlington Arts pop up event. In any case we are District 5 Jazz Band. I believe you can see our profile here or on our website at http://www.district5jazzband.com.

Our preference would be to play at 2 or 3pm.

    Thanks! – Jennifer

      1. Hi, could you please update on the site above which slots are taken by other bands so I can be more clear on if there are any open slots?

        Thanks, Gabe Schaye (Suicidal Squirrels)

  2. Hi. Thanks so much! Why don’t we grab the 3pm slot if its still available.

Do I need to do anything online here to secure it or is that something you do???

    Looking forward to it!

    Jennifer

      1. Hi Heather,

I’m SO sorry, but we’re going to have to pull out of playing this year. I have an important family situation that has unexpectedly come up that is going to take me out of town this weekend.

My hope is that you won’t have trouble filling the spot since it’s such a nice porch and there are so many good groups in Arlington. I’ll send some folks your way just in case.

Again, my sincerest apologies for this. – Jennifer

  3. Hey, friends! I’m Sam Bayer, your smartass troubadour, your literate, exuberant guide to an imaginary world where housewives win the Nobel Prize in physics, poker-playing children gamble over their bedtimes, and metaphorical elephants pirouette in the den, four and a half minutes at a time. You’ll laugh, you’ll, well, you’ll probably laugh some more. No crying, though. Check out my tunes at https://sambayer.com. I’m available for all time slots.

  4. We’d love to play there. The group is Colleyospin — we are a duo; we both sing and play tunes from the Great American Songbook on piano, guitar and mandolin, mostly. Also settings of poetry (Yeats, Emily Dickinson, etc.) to our own music, and a dose of American roots music.

  5. Hi, I’m a member of Suicidal Squirrels, a rock, blues and punk band that plays 70% covers and 30% originals, consisting of 4 sophomores (see https://arlingtonporchfest.org/band/suicidal-squirrels/ for more info). We’re currently looking for a porch and are open to any time slot. I’m not exactly sure based on your listing if there are any slots still available, but if there are, would you be open to hosting us? If needed, we can also temporarily go by just “The Squirrels” if there is any concern regarding the name.

      1. Hi, I’m sorry I took so long to get back but we can’t play at 4. We are still available and wanting to play during the five o’clock time slot, though, if that is open!

          1. Hi! Looks like you are scheduled for another porch at 5 pm. Can you confirm? Sorry about my delay!

    2. For some reason it’s not letting me reply to your comment asking if we are already scheduled for five, but I’m writing here that we’re not! I don’t know why it would say that but we are definitely available and still very much hoping to play here at five!

        1. Thanks for letting me know and for being on top of this! Also, just to clarify, you’re good with our current name, correct?

          1. I appreciate you asking about the name! Let’s just use The Squirrels. Since we are a public museum/porch and we will be publicizing this widely, we should take peoples’ sensitivities into account. Thank you!!

    3. Last year when one of our two hosts asked us to do the same (with the name) we made two identical listings, each exactly the same except with different names so that it would show up that way on the Porchfest Website under the one porch. I just did the same (pretty much just copied the description into a new listing with a different name) but I’m just letting you know that when you are able to list us in the five slot, you should do it via that other listing (it will be called “The Squirrels”). Now that I think about it, that may also solve the phantom booking issue!

  6. Hello! Are there any time slots still available at this porch? We, the Cropper Lads, can do any time (there are three of us).

  7. We love your porch and would be honored to land a spot.

We would love to continue the jazz group with our own duo. American songbook standards, tastefully played along with vocals.

Imagine James Taylor meet Etta James meets Taylor Swift. Kind of a James Taylor Swift vibe.

  8. Hello! We would love to get the 5pm spot, but flexible with time. We are a 3 pirate band, playing indie rock and this is our third Arlington porchfest. Please let us know. We are more than ready to play!
    Dirceu.
