  1. Hi, I’m a member of Suicidal Squirrels, a rock, blues and punk band that plays 70% covers and 30% originals, consisting of 4 sophomores (see https://arlingtonporchfest.org/band/suicidal-squirrels/ for more info). We’re currently looking for a porch and are open to any time slot, would you be open to hosting us? If needed, we can also temporarily go by just “The Squirrels” if there is any concern regarding the name.

    1. I had one earlier request but haven’t heard back, so the porch is yours if you want it unless I hear from Lars first.
Please drive by or check google street view: the porch is wide but not broad. Might be trouble for a big drum kit, but otherwise you’re probably good for 4 musicians.
Please let me know what hour (or two hours) you’d prefer to play.

        1. Hi, I’m sorry I took so long to get back but we can no longer play at 4. We are still available and wanting to play during the five o’clock time slot, though, if that is open! I’m still not completely sure if we will be free at five in the end, so please do stick with giving it to whoever commits first. I’m really sorry about the lack of clarity, it’s just been a lot of moving pieces!

          1. Ignore previous comment. Looks like you found a spot. Good luck and have a great gig.

      1. Thanks Ted! My band has rehearsal tomorrow so I’m planning to discuss it with them, and then I’ll get back to you on the time frame.

    1. Hi, Amrutha.
I’ve had two requests, but neither has band has returned my reply asking which hour (or two hours) they would like. So you may have the porch if you get back to me with your preferred time(s).
The porch is wide, but not deep. It’s probably fine for 5 players unless you have (for example) a huge drum kit. You can check out the venue by driving by or on Google Street View. The huge wisteria is gone for the moment.

  2. Hi! I’m Stevie Subrizi, and I’d love to play your porch.

I’m a solo singer-songwriter whose music could be described as indie-pop, post-punk, or queercore, with inflections of ska. I’ve drawn comparisons to Lou Reed, Jonathan Richman, Billy Bragg, and the Mountain Goats.

You can hear my last Medford PorchFest performance here: https://steviesubrizi.bandcamp.com/album/live-from-monument-street

Please let me know if I could play for you!

  3. Hello,

We’re the Cropper Lads – we’re a local folk/trad a-capella trio. We’ve got a set of campaign songs from 1860 that we’re looking to sing on your porch — is the 4 or 5pm slot still available?

    1. There are a couple of enquiries outstanding, but get back to me quickly about whether you’d like the 4-5 slot, the 5-6 slot, or both.

    1. Hi, Aram. I’ve given you the 4PM slot.
Eager to see you, and I hope there might be an opportunity for some of the Yesterday’s Bait crew to sit in for a song or two.
