We are As Seen From Space, an original,improvisational, instrumental, psychedelic rock trio – guitar, bass (Mike Wittman) and drums (Andy Buckley). My name is Frank Vickers, I’m the guitarist and composer. The band is based in Arlington, we share a rental studio at 399 Massachusetts Ave and have been there for several years. We’ve played the Middle East Upstairs, Zuzu, Thunder Road, the Union Tavern, McMann’s, the Jungle and O’Brien’s. We have a more regular gig at the Midway Cafe, we played there a coouple of months ago, and are booked at the Square Root in Roslindale August 16. As we are an instrumental band, we don’t need a PA as such, but I usually have a mic to speak a bit to the audience, thank them for the applause, etc. We have recorded a bit, but as we’re oolder guys, we focus on being a local live act, not really looking for a “touring, recording artist career” as such. The drummer and I have been together since the beginning over 10 years ago, but we are on bassist #6. Our material falls into 3 categories – bluesy, jazzy songs, atmospheric songs and “heavier” hard rock songs.

The “Porch” in this case is a EZ-up canopy in my driveway, which will have a long narrow seating area set up. I can run some extension chords from the house to provide power. Do you need sound amplification? Depending on your needs, I might be able to provide that if you don’t have your own..

This email was in my hone Inbox, so I answered it directly earlier, but I just opened this and saw that maybe this was a more “official” way to reply. But yes, we would like to perform on your “porch”. We can provide our own amplification. We are instrumental, no vocals, just our amps and drums and I’ll bring a small amp and microphone to talk to the audience. 3PM would be fine, but any time slot works for us.
