    Bamboo and Cherry Blossoms is a trio of two musicians and one dancer. We play traditional Japanese music and modern songs using koto (Japanese stringed instrument) and shakuhachi (Japanese bamboo flute). The dancer performs her original choreography using traditional Japanese dance and other dance styles.

    An eclectic mix of world beat tinged euro jazz . The female vocals of Vlada Brofman covers many languages and musical styles, jazz, blues, samba, chansons ( lots of), and a fair bit of original music contributed by her as well as pianist Georges El Bacha.   • Taal Mel

    We are a band that enjoys experimenting with the intersections of Indian film (Bollywood) music, western rock, blues music and Indian classical music through vocals, guitar and percussion. Our band name signifies the fusion of these genres – “Taal” in Hindi means beat, and “Mel” means fusion.

  • The Handpanler

    Atmospheric, meditative, percussive melodies, played by hand. Michael Buonaiuto (as The Handpanler) ¬†will play original compositions on solo handpan ¬†(an offspring of the steel drum, with a mellower resonance) during the break between Hills Pond Jugband’s 2 sets, somewhere around 2:45 pm.

    Traditional music from Eastern Europe (e.g. freylakhs, chosidls) and the middle east, with a bit of Broadway and jazz. Aram Hollman, fiddle and vocals; Jim Overly, keyboards and sousaphone; Marc Wolman, sax and dumbek, Carl Woolf, clarinet and viola. Aram also plays with contradance band Roaring Jelly. Jim plays with the Dirty Water Brass Band the the MIT Orchestra.
