    A cocktail of americana that’s behind the times by about 100 years. Formed when four good lookin’ musicians met at a bluegrass jam and wondered what would happen if they threw in some oldtime religion and minor swing. Inspired by a time where blues, jazz, and jugbands were young, the west had just been won, and the country was still gettin’ down to Appalachian murder ballads, yodeling cowboys, hoedowns, sea shanties and medicine shows.

    Smack dab at the intersection of early blues, classic jugband, western swing, and the roots of country, sits Hill’s Pond Jug Band. Washtub bass and finger picked guitars anchor harmonic vocals and melodious riffs on mandolin, fiddle, banjo, and other instrumental surprises. Our band is comprised of Kathy Feinmann, Dennis Slafer, Ken Maser, Mike Gildesgame, and Michael Buonaiuto, Arlingtonians all. Come give us a listen!

    The Harmonators perform original material and their own take on favorites from the 60’s to present day hits. “We love to play the tunes we grew up listening to and still listen to. We strive to entertain our audiences through great harmonies, fine guitar work, and percussion instruments.” Joe, Glen, and De also co-host the Jam’n Java Open Mic at Kickstand Café.

    Traditional music from Eastern Europe (e.g. freylakhs, chosidls) and the middle east, with a bit of Broadway and jazz. Aram Hollman, fiddle and vocals; Jim Overly, keyboards and sousaphone; Marc Wolman, sax and dumbek, Carl Woolf, clarinet and viola. Aram also plays with contradance band Roaring Jelly. Jim plays with the Dirty Water Brass Band the the MIT Orchestra.
