The Haymakers are a Somerville band that’s storming through the clubs and brewpubs of New England to champion good-time music. What began as a campfire jam has led to an 8-year rock & roll party where they make new friends wherever they go.
There is no pretense about about breaking new frontiers. The Haymakers want to live in a world where people want to dance to bands like The Stones or The Faces or Tom Petty or Cheap Trick. It’s crashing guitars and swinging drums with a forceful bassist barely making room for passionate vocals.
Stuart Munro of the Boston Globe says they “simply provide you with unalloyed rock ‘n roll.” According to York Calling, “They hint at 60s rock, garage rock and classic rock, yet it also has its own diverse flavor, ensuring The Haymakers never sound like parodies of a previous style.”
We like this quote from If It’s Too Loud:
“The songs have a polished but dirty sound, and feel like a dive bar trying to look a little classy.”

Would you be willing to play outside by the pond at the Arlington Lodge of Elks anytime late afternoon/evening?
We’d love to, Jane! I’ll email you to figure out the details.
Hello, we have a 3-4pm or 5pm opening on our porch at 53 Winter and would love to host you. We are across from Crosby park and get a lot of foot traffic.
Hi,
We’d love to do it, but we have to pass. We were asked to play at the Arlington Lodge of Elks after our 1pm porch.
Thanks for asking,
Rob
