Peter Lindholm is a songwriter, guitar player, and singer based in the Boston, MA area. He is presently playing bluegrass with the Fort Point Ramblers and the occasional blues gig with The Sidewinders. He has played in several bands over the years, including the college favorite SeaThru, the seminal post-punk band Squid Squad, and the 80s power trio Food Phone Gas Lodging. Influences as diverse as Freddie King, Lowell George, Ry Cooder, and Trey Anastasio have shaped Peter’s musical style into a “blues-alt country-americana-jamband” groove. Attending WUMB’s Summer Acoustic Music Week in 2009 was a watershed event, instigating a year long immersion in acoustic guitar, song-writing, and solo performance.
Scott Rule is a musician who plays both the mandolin and its larger counterpart, the octave mandolin. Originally performing with the string band Fort Point Ramblers, Scott has shifted his focus towards pushing beyond the boundaries of traditional bluegrass. Rooted in folk forms while embracing an improvisational style, Scott’s playing draws inspiration from the realms of psychedelic rock and jam bands. Inspired by influential artists like Jerry Garcia and Trey Anastasio, his aim is to create a musical experience that transcends genre. Scott explores new sonic territories through spontaneous composition, blending familiar themes with boundary-pushing sounds.
