Hill’s Pond Jug Band is back at Arlington Porchfest for a third straight year! With kazoos, washtubs, and other kitchen utensils (as well as banjos, mandolins, guitars, and a bit of fiddle), plenty of style, and a dash of chutzpa, we straddle the intersection of blues, early rock & roll, classic jazz, western swing, and old-time country.
Featuring Arlingtonians Mike Gildesgame, Kathy Feinmann, Dennis Slafer, Ken Maser, and Michael Buonaiuto. We’ll be playing at the corner of Mass Ave and Route 60, right near the western entrance to the bike path , starting at 3. Check us out!
Original compositions, played by hand, on the handpan, a recently conceived second-cousin-once-removed of the steel drum. Rhythmic, mediative, ethereal.
The Handpanler will perform at about 3:45 at the Uncle Sam Memorial Statue, at the corner of Mass Ave and Rt 60 (Pleasant St) in Arlington Center, between Hill’s Pond Jug Band sets.

Watch for Uncle Sam, a very tall, native son of Arlington, blissfully dancing his way from porch to porch at Arlington Porchfest! Rumor has it that he’ll be hanging out around 3 pm near the corner of Mass Ave and Route 60 (Pleasant Street, first at the Uncle Sam Memorial Statue (of course!), and later at Porchfest Headquarters at Whittemore Park (611 Mass Ave) somewhere around 5:15.
Uncle Sam is a twelve foot tall parade puppet created by Michael Buonaiuto. For more information on Michael’s other sculptural work, click here.
